I've been meaning to send you an email ...Desi,

I've been meaning to send you an email for awhile. I've been playing guitar for 20 years. For playing as long as I have, I should be way better than I am. Toward the beginning, I never enjoyed practicing guitar...the lessons were boring; I was learning "Mary Had A Little Lamb," etc. I was playing the same 5 chords all the time, and I wasn't progressing; however, after getting together with much better players, I picked up tips here & there. I learned to play by ear, and my knowledge of any theory was sorely lacking. Out of my 20 years of playing, I had a total of 6 months worth of lessons--everything else I learned on my own. I always wanted to hone my craft, but I never knew where to start. I felt like I needed to really focus on learning theory (I still want to learn theory) to be able to improve. I had hit a wall. Sometime within the last year, I saw a video of yours on YouTube regarding the CAGED Theory, and with that little bit I was blown away. Based on that, I was picking up tips here & there based on my own 'tinkering'. Then I finally broke down & spent all my spending money to purchase the Fretboard Theory book (and pdf file). Though I haven't gotten too far into it...just learning those pentatonic patterns has opened up so much for me. It was like I had all these different puzzle pieces of knowledge in my head from so many years of playing, but it wasn't until your instruction came along that helped me really begin to see how those pieces started fitting together. So, for that, I truly thank you! Playing guitar, in my opinion, is truly my one talent from the Lord. Now, I'm excited about practicing and learning again. I can't tell you how much it means to me to be able to improve my playing, and simply be able to run up & down the fretboard simply based on what key our piano player is in.

Thank you!
